90 Day Fiancé’s Statler Riley Slams “Insecure” Dempsey For Her “Performative” Behavior After Revealing Relationship Status (2025)

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Statler Riley is not afraid of calling out season 7 girlfriend Dempsey Wilkinson after the latter confirmed their shocking relationship update. Statler and Dempsey met on a dating app a few months before they filmed 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 6. They barely knew each other when Statler told Dempsey she wanted to move in with her. While Dempsey hesitated, she decided they could go on a road trip instead. Statler agreed but the cracks in their relationship began showing when breadwinner Statler faced financial stress.

However, it was Dempsey who tried to gain sympathy by proving Statler was ruining her vacation with her negative mood. She even acted unsupportive towards Statler who was having a panic attack. Statler thinks it was Dempsey’s insecurity leading her to look heartless. She posted a photo of herself with a hand feeding pigeons and captioned it, “People who are insecure interpret every behavior they witness as performative, bc it would be from then.” Statler was seemingly calling out Dempsey’s attempt to make it look like Statler makes a mountain out of a molehill when she describes her mental health.

Statler has always been open about her struggles with ADHD, which she’d had to deal with since childhood. Her past of being adopted as a newborn had also scarred Statler into thinking she was the black sheep of her family that no one loved. Statler went looking for love in the wrong places but wanted to settle down when she met Dempsey. She was also diagnosed with autism but that didn’t deter her from accompanying Dempsey on her dream Euro trip. Meanwhile, Dempsey selfishly refused to accommodate Statler’s needs. It showed Dempsey was not ready to have a married life.

Statler wasn’t a fan of Dempsey living off her money. While that wasn’t a major problem, her not comforting Statler made Statler suspect Dempsey’s feelings towards her. Statler’s doubts may have been justified when she discovered Dempsey was cheating on her with a person she claimed was her friend. Statler believed she had manifested the woman of her dreams when she met Dempsey, but Statler also realized she had not wished for a partner who could prioritize communication or be patient and understanding. Instead, Dempsey did everything about herself. Statler continued to give Dempsey the benefit of the doubt.

Statler created unrealistic expectations out of Dempsey and also made her bear the brunt of her work stress. Dempsey had not signed up to be Statler’s savior, but Statler expected her to be one. Statler has yet to prove her claims that Dempsey cheated on her. All that she’s doing now is trying to paint a picture of a villainous Dempsey but in vain.
